Elgabaly Architects was founded in 1994 in Cairo – Egypt, by Dr. Tamer A. Elgabaly. The firm is specialized in the field of Architecture, Urbanism, Interiors and Landscape Designs. The projects Elgabaly architects spans several quarters of Egypt, encompassing both new and remodeling built works.
Elgabaly architects designed several malls, hotels, resorts, office buildings and housing developments, it was best known in Cairo for its residential Schemes at Nasr city, Heliopolis. It produces sound work with an eye for detail, it was the most recent commission the Future University in New Cairo, previously the firm carried out the design of Golf City Mall (Carrefour Al Obour), Hilton Heliopolis, the Municipality Building of Al Sheikh Zayed City, the A.C. Milan Sports Academy, Al- Obour City, Serinity Sahl Hasheesh – 5 Stars Resort, Green Residence (3) Al Sheikh Zaied, and several business and commercial complex in the commercial city center of new Cairo such as IPACO Business Complex, Al Rebat Business Park.
Dr. Tamer Elgabaly was born in 1970 and spent his childhood in Heliopolis suburban east Cairo, his father was an architect who owned a real state investment co. and factory for furniture fabrication. He studied architecture undergraduate courses during the period 1989 – 1982, past graduated courses 1993 – 1994, at the architecture department, in Ain Shams University.
After being qualified as an architect, Elgabaly started his career working for Dr. Farok Al-Goharys’ office designing the newest malls & shopping center. In the same time, Tamer Elgabaly managed to find time to achieve his master degree in architecture by completion of his thesis “Commercial atrium space between tradition & contemporary”.
During the period 1995 -1999, he managed to achieve his PHD degree in architecture by completion his thesis ” The designing factors sand standards of the regional shopping center-outskirts of great Cairo”.
And during the period 2000-2006 his interest searches gave him expensive view of architecture, as a young architects. His extensive training as an architect, lecture assistant, and furniture designer makes him one of the most distinctive architects in Egypt earning a wide fame for several sensational and innovative architectural projects and he was committed to the modern movements and the experiment approaches of architecture and planning.
